![]() Eddy Glazener as a voice in the defense is remarkably valuable, and a quick viewing of the games he missed with injury are all the case you need for his value to the Redwoods. His 38 GB were as many as Graeme Hossack he had as many CT as Michael Ehrhardt. He picked up 25 ground balls, and once again proved himself to be one of top help defenders in the PLL.Ĭraig Chick had an LSM of the Year caliber season but was left out of the Top 50. ![]() He also was Top 10 in the league in caused turnovers. That’s how deep the PLL is.Ĭade Van Raaphorst hit as many two’s this year as Michael Ehrhardt, the second highest total in the league. Down to the last man, if you’re on a PLL roster every week, you’re pretty damn good. There will assuredly be “snubs” for this team, too, because there always will be. ![]() This roster would, I believe, be a Championship Series qualifying roster. A 21-man roster containing All-Stars and impact players who finished outside the Top 50. Two goalies, five poles, five attackman, two faceoff specialists, and seven midfielders. Positions matter – this isn’t just 21 guys ranked by production. I build a PLL gameday roster - 21 players - made entirely of players who were not ranked in the Top 50. But just by setting the limit at the Top 50, another fun exercise comes along, and I rather enjoy doing it every year: the Not Top 50. It’s incredibly difficult to make a PLL roster for anyone. Players who have been the best player on their team for their entire career hit the PLL and might become role players or just not make a team at all. It’s easy to see the quality of the list just by looking at the player pool and seeing college All Americans waiting to get a call for a shot on a roster. Bryce Young finally made the top 50 this year, after somehow never making it before, despite being an every week starter on one of the most steady and solid defensive units in lacrosse. The players ranked 40-50 are all players who, in my opinion, are starters on every team in the PLL. The list serves another function: demonstrating just how deep the league is with talent. Who the best is, who should get more recognition, who might be overrated, and it all can come to light in this list. It’s meant to be truly representative of what the players think of each other. If you’re unfamiliar, the Top 50 is a ranking of the 50 best players in the league, with the twist that it’s voted entirely on by PLL players.
